Is it just me, or is time flying by recently? I feel like the month of October was a week-long, and now we are almost done with November! Maybe it is just due to the busyness of this time of year, especially in the theatre department. For instance, most of my time for the past few months has been taken up by the fall play, Radium Girls! Which I am certainly not complaining about.
Radium Girls happened this past weekend, and it was very successful. It felt really nice to be able to do something that I loved, even if it felt different than normal. My favorite part of the production is each night after a show, just going home and being proud of what you’ve created. I know that with this production I was definitely challenged with the part I was given. (In case you didn’t know, I played Kathryn Schaub, Harriet Roeder, Society Woman and Shop Girl!) But I enjoy being given a difficult situation, because the growing and learning that comes from it makes the pay off so much better in my opinion. Overall, this production was full of new friends, new challenges, unfortunate radioactive deaths, and condensation filled masks! Although, I do have to wonder if the fate of the Radium Girls would’ve been different if they had a mask mandate back then too… guess we’ll never know! |
As far as productions go, next up is 10 Ways To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse on December 17-19th! Which is very exciting. As someone who has read over the script, I can tell you first-hand, if it will be anything, it will be entertaining.
To keep you in-the-know, here’s what is coming up for us!
Thespian Gear Orders Due November 24! You can find the link to this on our social media.

Besides all the busyness this time of year entails, I hope you’ve been doing okay! I know there’s been an abnormal spike in cases of COVID-19 recently, and that’s really concerning. Who knows what any of that means for theatre season or our department as a whole? All we can do is stay positive and cherish what we have. Which, what better time to do that than the holiday season!
Even with all the scariness that 2020 has brought, nothing can damper my spirit about Christmas. Yes, I said Christmas. Thanksgiving, although it is a nice holiday where I go into a food coma and nap for three hours afterwards, just can’t compete with all the Holly Jolly. To further enhance this statement, here’s a picture of my chihuahua, Bentley, a couple years ago, being all festive. Also, make sure you check out the new Thespian Points System, created by yours truly. I hope it makes the process easier for you guys, and certainly more organized than the binder we used before. No hate on it, it was just time for an upgrade! Alright, now that I’ve essentially word-vomited all over this blog, I think it’s time for me to sign off. |
