International Thespian Society

ITS is a great way to get involved with theatre! Becoming an International Thespian Member is an honor to be cherished for your whole life, and it is a great way to be recognized for the work that you do. Active Thespian members give back to their school community, the theatre department, and are better prepared for the rigors of theatre in college. Students who participate as active Thespian members attend conferences and workshops, attend shows, organize service projects for the school and community, are eligible for college scholarships, and also have a lot of fun throughout the year.

ITS is an international organization which recognizes excellence in High School Theatre. It is criteria based for rewarding the accomplishments of theatre students. Eligibility is based on meeting the requirements established by the point criteria of ITS. Points accrue throughout the four years of theatre participation. Theatre students may be awarded thespian membership, letter in theatre, and may become honor, national, and international thespians.

Oak Park's Thespian Troupe 2758 is a student led organization (guided by the Director of Theatre). Students with exceptional servant leadership skills are encouraged to run for the Board each year. The board members lead the troupe and the department throughout the year and work to ensure every student has an outstanding experience in theatre.

At the end of each year at our Thespian Banquet, we officially induct new thespian members and honor the accomplishments of theatre students throughout the year.
