Hello and Welcome Back, Esteemed Theatre Enthusiasts!
I’m happy to say that I write the first blog post of the brand-new year, 2021! Last year was surely one for the history books, and I am more than glad that it is over. Although, nothing has really changed. I think many people see the start of the new year as a time of new beginnings and change, but as far as the problems out of our control- they didn’t stay in 2020. Like, for example, the worldwide pandemic we are in. So, make sure you are still masking up and staying socially distant from others! It’s hard, but it is so so so important. Besides what hasn’t changed, I do hope for good things in our future. 2020 showed us that nothing in life is promised, so I hope that in 2021 (and every year after it) we take nothing for granted. |
If we thought that 2020 came to a close at an alarming speed- winter break proved to be the same way! Winter break was really nice for me, I spent a lot of time with my family, which is one of the best parts of the holiday season. I also took some time to relax, which isn’t something my schedule permits a lot of. I hope you took some time for yourself as well over break, especially after the craziness of this past year.
That being said, we kick back into high gear with Into The Woods rehearsals, and The Yellow Boat rehearsals! In case you didn’t know, my role in Into The Woods is Florinda- one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, and for the next few weeks we are doing music rehearsals. Learning our music, memorizing it, etc. And I’ve got to say, this music is much more difficult than the previous musical we did. But I just know it’s going to come together so nicely. I’m excited to see how the show comes together!
Theatre ¾ stays hard at work putting together our Theatre for a Cause show, The Yellow Boat! This show is under two months away, and it’s also a show I’m excited to see come together! The story is so heartbreakingly beautiful, make sure you don’t miss it!
Because I’m a good person and like to keep you guys informed.

I hope that this new year, especially with everything coming up, has you in a positive mindset. Staying positive is so important, and the easiest way to do that is to have fun. I know- you probably read that sentence and this one and you’re now thinking that I have no idea what I’m talking about. Well, what I’m talking about is this; don’t take life too seriously. In a day and age where there’s so much stuff happening all around us that we can’t change, why are we focusing on that? There is no point to it, it is a waste of time. Accept the things you cannot change and make the most of it! Have fun with the unfortunate realities of life. Speak out on what you think is wrong, find new hobbies to occupy your time, see a failure as a lesson. And, even more importantly- change the things you can! We get so wrapped up in things we cannot change, we almost forget about what we can change. The number one most changeable factor of any bad situation is how we react to it. Is this going to matter in 6 months? A year? Five years? The power of having fun and staying positive is in your hands.
