Reminder: Take Care of Yourself!

What’s up thespians?! We’ve had a lot going on these past couple of weeks! With Into the Woods, Yellow Boat and even just school in general, everyone has had a lot on their plates.  Personally, I’m splitting my time between being Cinderella in “Into the Woods” and acting as Varsity Captain for the girls’ soccer team. Both have a lot of responsibilities and at first, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to pull it off. But my directors and my coach have been so understanding with working around my schedule that I’ve realized it is possible to do both as long as I put in 100% of my effort when I’m at both activities and do everything I can outside of rehearsal and practices to be the best I can be while I am there. That being said, this is a time where I recommend you step back for even just a second to sort everything out and collect yourself. Have a self-care day on the weekend, read a new book, or even just simple things like taking a bath or a hot shower. Take care of yourself because we couldn’t do everything, we do without all of you!

If any of you didn’t hear, one of our senior thespians, Kaleighan Chastain, has written and is directing her own show, “The Scars That Made Us”. She just recently held auditions and the cast list is up under “Current Season” > “2020-2021” > “The Scars That Made Us”. Taking on something like this as a student is very impressive and we as a department are proud to be putting on her show! It will be streamed through N2 Sports on April 24th at 7pm!

The end of the year is coming up faster than we realize and it’s so nerve wracking but exciting. Being a senior, it’s such a bittersweet feeling. I’m ready to start this new chapter in my life and meet new people and have new experiences, but I’m so sad to leave behind the memories and the amazing people I’ve met in high school. I’m definitely sitting back and appreciating everything these last couple of months because I know I’ll be missing it soon and I’m sure lots of the other seniors are feeling the same way. And for all of the underclassmen, don’t take this time you have for granted! They really do mean it when they say it all goes by so quickly without you even realizing it. I’m ready to see what the rest of this year brings us and to spend it with all of my favorite people.

With All the Love,
Madi The Baddie
